Facts You Should Know:

• You are not required by law to get more than one estimate.
• Only you, the owner, can authorize repairs to your vehicle.
• You are able to choose the repair shop, not the claims adjuster.  However, the adjuster must be given reasonable time to inspect the vehicle prior to repair.
• Repair estimates will vary.  Ask if genuine or aftermarket parts are to be used, if the paint is guaranteed, etc.  It is your car, so ensure it is fixed properly.
• Review your insurance policy; you have other specific rights and obligations.
• You will be authorizing repairs and therefore will be required to pay (or secure payment from your insurance company) upon completion.
